Is Disparity a D20 System Game?

A lot if people seem to be asking if Disparity game is being published under the D20 license. The answer is no. It is not that we have anything against D20 games, or D&D, but we wanted to produce something completely unique and not bound by the terms of a license agreement that could change at any time.

Game FAQ's (Alpha Version)

Today, we are going to look at some of the most common questions that our alpha series testers have asked us about game and play. That way you can settle any lingering questions before (or after) you begin play.

Do I want to roll low or high?

As a general rule you want to roll low on your skill checks in order to pass and when you roll to hit, or negate damage with your armor. You want to roll high when you are dealing damage or rolling for your gold.

Why doesn't my armor keep me from getting hit?

Because that is not how armor works in the real world. Think about it: a Kevlar vest may save your life by stopping a bullet, but you are still going to have a welt (and probably a nasty bruise) where you were hit. The only way to avoid damage completely is to not get hit, so don't forget to dodge.

How often can I upgrade my armor?

Once per level, up to level ten. After that hour armor upgrades have maxed out.

How do I search a room (or anything else searchable)?

With an intelligence check. Just be aware that the roll may be altered if the task is too challenging for your level or if the environment is particularly complex. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis by the storyteller.

How many drinks makes you drunk? Does it matter what kind of alcohol I drink?

Three and no. After three your storyteller may choose to assign a temporary negative to your skill checks.

How do I get sober again?

Drink an equal number of non-alcoholic beverages, wait six hours, or sleep it off.

You can probably guess a lot about our alpha series testers by these questions, but thanks to them a bevy of examples and charts have been added to the players handbook you will get to play with when we launch on September 1st.
